Rubber O Mounts

A Rubber O Mount is a simple vibration isolation device made primarily of rubber or elastomer materials, often bonded to a metal part (plate, washer, or stud). The shape resembles an “O” or ring, so the name comes from the cross-sectional geometry. These mounts are usually compact and used where low-frequency vibration isolation and shock absorption are needed. Rubber O Mounts isolate vibration by using the elastic deformation of rubber. When machinery vibrates, the rubber compresses and deforms instead of transmitting the vibration directly to the mounting surface or frame. This deformation converts the kinetic energy from vibration into heat (internal energy), which dampens the transmitted vibration. Rubber O Mounts reduce vibration and noise in small machine frames, cabinets, control units, and light equipment. Because they are flexible and cost-effective, they’re good where ultra-low vibration isn’t required but basic damping is still needed.
